All Shook Up Elvis energy drink

Boston America Just keeps putting out the licensed products at a rapid pace. Some I can pass on and others the collector in me just can’t help but buy just to have the can. I saw this picture of Elvis on an energy drink and I caved in and bought it on ebay. Sure there might have been a few beers consumed prior to bidding on it but I don’t regret it like some purchases I have made on ebay while in a similar state. This package I kept and did not mark return to sender. At least I did not have to go down In the Ghetto to buy it
Packaging: Classic 8.4 oz energy drink can. The can is wrapped in a blue shrink wrap label with some light rays and stars in the back ground. I am glad they used a cool Elvis picture with him in a leather jacket playing a guitar. Fat Elvis in a sequined jump suit just would not have worked for an energy drink. The name Elvis in lights at the bottom is nice as well. The name “All Shook Up” is fine as well. I really could not think of a better Elvis song to go with for an energy drink. Grade C+ for packaging
Slogan: None at all which really sucks. I mean come on there was a lot of potential there like “You Can’t help falling in love with this drink” or “When It’s Now or Never reach for an All Shook up energy drink” Grade F
Taste: Boston America offers several different flavors in their drinks. I was not sure what this one would be. Would it be my first peanut butter and Nanner flavored energy drink? Alas it was not. I popped the top and got a nice berry scent. The liquid itself came out a dark blue color with a medium carbonation. Taking a sip it was a nice mixed berry that was heavy on the raspberry. The finish was pure blue raspberry. It’s pretty sweet and quite tasty actually. I had no bitterness or after taste. This is a very drinkable product. Not sure why they went with mixed berry but at least it is a good one. C+
Kick/Ingredients: I drank it down quickly since it is only 8.4 oz and I was rewarded with a nice low level buzz. I’d this buzz gave you more energy than fat Elvis but less then the 1950’s early Elvis. I got a good 3 hour buzz with a minor sugar crash. This drink is the same ingredients wise as other Boston America drinks Caffeine(I’m guessing 75 to 80 mg), Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana, Inositol, and some B vitamins. You get 110 calories, 30 grams of carbs, and 28 grams of sugars(from HFC). It’s no Hound dog but then again it’s no Viva Las Vegas either. Grade C-
Web Presence: The website at bostonamerica.com is all you are going to get for this drink. It is not a bad site but it does not have a lot of drink info. I’m not going to slam them since it looks nice and is easy to navigate and works and looks nice. It would be nice if they answered my emails and maybe provide some ingredients info on their website. Grade D for web presence
Recap:
Ok for a drink named after the king it is a little weak. I was disappointed the flavor was not more Elvis themed. The kick was low as was expected and it never got my hips gyrating or anything close. The can itself is the main reason to buy this and I think there it succeeds. I think they should make more Elvis theme drinks like 68 Come back with more caffeine, A 32 oz can for fat Elvis, and maybe even a relaxation type beverage you can drink while sitting on the can. Really the possibilities are endless.
