ABB Adrenalyn Shot Berry Buzz
Ok here we have another product from the well respected folks at American Body Building. This time it is Adrenalyn Shot in the Berry Buzz flavor. I think that even though products from this company are aimed at gym rats first and foremost that most everyone can benefit from them. I am not a hardcore workout gym type guy but I do like to run and ride bikes and of course I know my energy drinks. I think that qualifies me to give this product a proper review.
Packaging: ABB likes plastic bottles and they like silver. This package does not stray from that mold. It is a nice shiny 8.5 oz slick resealable plastic bottle. It has the purple dot fade pattern and the gold eagle dude ABB logo. It’s nice that it has a screw top since this is a strong drink and you might want do drink half of it at a time. Really though it is nice looking and uncluttered. Grade B for packaging
Slogan: The slogan for ABB products is “The force in the Gym”. Not really catchy but it does get the message across that this is a brand for those that like to exercise. C- for slogan
Taste: Ok so I twist off the top and there is a nice mixed berry scent. I smell no chemicals which is a plus for a gym type drink. Pouring some in a cup it comes out a pale reddish color with no carbonation. Taking a sip it has a nice fairly sweet mixed berry flavor with raspberry being the dominant of the mixed berry flavors. It has a slight artificial quality to it but there is no bitterness or aftertaste. I’m not going to say it was great but it was good. Grade C for taste
Kick/Ingredients: I split this drink into different sessions. One day I drank it before a bike ride and it really gave me a nice boost that allowed me to ride with some extra intensity. The next time I drank the second half was for a run I needed to get in. The problem was that I had just got off of a 12hr night shift and it was 5 am. Not easy to be motivated and energetic at this point. I drank it down on the drive home and by the time I was home I was ready to go. I got my clothes changed quickly and hit the pavement. I had much more energy than I expected and had to dial it down some since this drink had me going at a faster pace than I wanted. It allowed me to get my run in and I actually added a little extra distance. Each time the buzz lasted me 2 or 3 hours with no crash. This shot contains 200mg caffeine, Taurine, L-Carnitine Tyrosine, Phenylalanine, Choline , Yohimbine, White and green tea extract, and Cinnamon extract. It comes in at 10 calories with no sugar and 3 grams of carbs. Grade B for kick/ingredients
Web Presence: americanbodybuilding.com is a pretty nice site. Professionally done, easy to navigate, loaded with product and ingredients information. It also has a nice store and an events section. It’s not one of those multimedia loaded fun sites but I am impressed with the information about the products which is very important to me. I give the site a grade of B+
Recap:
I continue to be impressed with the product line from ABB. This shot provides a really good boost when drinking half and a big boost when drinking it all. I like that option. It has a nice look and the taste is pretty good as well. I think you should give it a try either for your next work out or even just as a drink to get you going no matter what you are doing. If you want to do it with more intensity grab an Adrenalyn Shot and I’m sure you will be happy with the results.
