Locked and Loaded!
Ammo Energy Shot
I saw these online and right away I thought it sounded like something unique. I think this is the first liquid shot I have seen that is made to be mixed with water(I could be wrong). There are plenty of powders out there but most liquid shots are meant to just be slammed down. I could do a separate review for each flavor of Ammo but they are all pretty much the same except for the flavor so 90% of the review would be the same. Let’s just knock em all out in one review.
Packaging: Ammo comes in 1oz clear plastic bottles with a label wrapped around most of it. You can see the liquid inside easily. The bottle is pretty thick and sturdy and has a nice screw on lid. The label has a camo pattern that goes with the military theme of the package. The name is vertical and it has the phrase” developed for the military” underneath it. The flavor is listed at the very top. On the back side is scale so you can measure out the amount you want to use. They jam a lot on this little bottle label including the website address. I’m giving them a grade of B+ for packaging. It looks great and has everything you need on the label. Top that with it being sturdy so it will travel safely and it is resealable. This is the best shot package I have seen
Slogans: On the bottle we got “A liquid shot of energy” and on their site they use the slogan “Ammo up”. I really like the Ammo Up slogan and it looks great on a shirt or hat also. I’ll give them a grade of B on slogan. Short and catchy.
Taste ect: Ok shots usually don’t taste good but then you expect that. Ammo is not really a shot though. You probably could just slam it down but it is made to be mixed with water or some other beverage. You have 3 flavors and I’ll go over them separately here.
So with all 3 there is just a tiny bit of after taste from the caffeine but that would be hard to cover up without making them super sweet. Mixed with water they are just mildly sweet and thirst quenching. I’ll give them a grade of A- for taste. That is kind of an average of all 3. I think you will enjoy any of these for sure. Just pick your favorite.
Kick/Ingredients: Well let us see how the kick is. A lot of shots out there jam a bunch of ingredients in. With Ammo it is simpler though. 171mg of caffeine, 7grams of sugar. That is pretty much it for energy ingredients. Mix that with citric acid, and sucralose and a little water and preservatives and you’re done. At more than double the caffeine of a Red Bull I was jacked up pretty good for a few hours and had pretty much no crash since there is just a little bit of Sugar. I’ll give them a grade of B for kick. Not super long lasting since it is only caffeine and sugar but potent. Don’t forget that if you drink it with 16oz of water so you stay hydrated as well. I also have to add that this stuff mixes better than any powdered or tablet type energy drink product I have tried. Dump it in and with a couple of shakes or stirs it’s mixed completely.
Web presence: They have a great site over at drinkammo.com/ the site has mixing instructions, photos, a really good Faq page, press page. Top that off with a cool flash intro and you got a nice website. Not a lot more out there on the web besides the official page but it is a new product and I expect it to do well. I’ll give them a grade of B for web presence. The site provides a lot of information and looks pretty good as well.
Recap:
Ammo is a really great product. Its package design is awesome and you can carry it anywhere comfortably. Throw it in your backpack, stick it in your pocket, purse, man bag, bike bag, fanny pak (ok just say no to the fanny pak). You’re supposed to mix it but you can just slam it if you don’t have water handy. If you get a chance try this stuff. It’s a unique product that is very well done.
