Atomic Energy Bites

Ok so this seems to be a new area that energy products are getting into. First you had Drink then you had shots and now chews and bites are starting to take off. Why not I say. Chews and bites offer even more portability than shots and you can drink what ever you like with them. Here we have the biggest assortment of flavors I have seen in the chews category.  I have 5 flavors I am reviewing here.

Packaging: Well there are several choices. The chews themselves come in little foil wrappers that are colored different for each flavor and have a little Atomic logo on them.  You can buy the chews in cool little 3 pack boxes or 6 pack boxes. You can buy the boxes in a nice little variety pack as well containing multiple boxes.  The boxes are very cool and unique and have a candy look to them. The graphics and fonts used are very well thought out and look really cool to me. I give them a grade of A for packaging. You get a variety of choices and all of them are great.

Slogan:  “Energy Under Wraps” is the slogan right on the boxes and I like it. It’s unique to the product and is just a good overall slogan that catches your attention. Grade B

Taste:  So I will do a taste review for each of the 5 flavors.

• Mocha Crunch actually tastes much better than I expected. It is a little brown cube with some dark specs that has a great chocolate coffee scent. Popping one into my mouth it is just a bit softer than a starburst. It has a great creamy Mocha taste to it and the crunchy bits in it are like little bits of coffee beans that give it a great texture. I could easily eat and entire 6 pack of these just for the taste. Grade A+
• Fruit Punch is a little red cube of fruit punch goodness. It is a lot like a starburst candy. Chewy, sweet and fruity with no after taste or bitterness. Nice smooth consistency. Grade A-
• Cinnabomb is a little red cube with a strong cinnamon scent. It is a real cinnamon scent and it delivers exactly that kind of taste. It is a true spicy hot cinnamon like you might get from those cinnamon toothpicks you might have bought as a kid or made yourself using cinnamon oil. Spicy hot and refreshing. Grade B
• Orange Raspberry is like a total classic chewy candy. I think this one taste the most like a regular starburst type candy. It tastes mostly of really sweet orange with just a tiny hint of berry.  Grade  A
• Lemon Lime is a bright lime green little cube. I’d say it is about 95% lime and 5 percent lemon. This not a sour lime but is really tart and sweet and just flat out tasty.  Grade A

Ok so all of these flavors are very very good with no aftertaste or bitterness. Really you can’t tell these are anything more than just candy by the taste. My favorite is the Mocha but all the other flavors really rock. Overall taste grade A

Kick/ingredients:  I tried these in many different situations (3 cubes equal 1 serving). I kept some in my desk at work and ate them like candy after lunch. This got me a good buzz that started going after 15 to 20 minutes and lasted a god 4 to 5 hours with no crash. I took them along on bike rides and runs for carbs and energy while exercising, They were on my kitchen counter to grab on the way out the door when I did not have time for a cup of coffee. I like how they built a slow steady buzz with no jitters. So even though you can’t taste them here are the ingredients in 3 bites. Caffeine 100mg, Taurine 1000mg, Ginseng, Guarana, L-Carnitine, Inositol, Milk Thistle, and 100% dvs of your B vitamins. All of that with 50 calories, 12 grams of carbs, and 7 grams of sugars. Sweetened with corn syrup and sugar. Grade B- for kick/ingredients

Web presence:  The website at atomicenergybites.com looks pretty nice. It offers up plenty of information along with a store, events, music, and more. It’s a new site and it acted a bit squirrelly sometimes. I am sure they will work out the bugs and add more content in time. Until then though I will still give them a grade of C

Ok you can call these bites or chews or whatever. Call them what you want but I will call them good. These things taste awesome. I love having the variety so I can mix and match them like a package of assorted starburst candies. I don’t know how they got all the good energy ingredients in these with out you being able to taste them at all. These things are very portable and even held up well in the heat when I was out biking and running. You could carry plenty of these everywhere you go including on an airplane. Really I highly recommend these awesome candy energy treats. You can even get a free sample here at least for now. Let me know what you think of these.
