Battery Energy drink
I have seen pictures of the Battery energy drink around on the web and liked the idea of the battery energy drink can. I have not been able to find it here till just recently and I am happy to review this one.
Packaging: Very unique can as far as I am concerned. Battery Energy drink comes in a 11.2 oz aluminum can. The Can is like your typical soft drink can only a little bit shorter. The can is black and gold and has a gold top. Around the top are some big white + signs that represent Positive like on a battery. The name “Battery” is vertical in gold and “energy drink” is in a whit font to go along with it. Both of these are below each + sign on 3 sides of the can. There really is no front of the can. You also have 3 different gold squares with various information like nutrition, and ingredients in them. The caffeine amount is listed as well. I really like the idea behind this can. It does quite resemble a battery which would be associated with energy. It will definitely stand out amongst other drinks. I will give a grade of B for packaging. This is a nice looking and very unique can.
Slogan: I really had to look to find one but it was there on the website. “Keeps you going”. Now that is not exactly exciting but I do think it fits well with a battery theme so they get a plus for that. Grade C+
Taste: Battery energy drink has been around since 1997 so I was pretty much expecting RB clone. Most early energy drinks stuck to this flavor. I pop open the can and take a sniff. It comes off as smelling like your typical RB clone but not quite as sweet. It is not as strong of a smell and I get no hint of vitamin smell. I pour some in a glass and it comes out as a light brown color with a medium level of carbonation. I take a sip and upfront I taste what I expected. It starts off as tasting like a RB clone but then it is less sweet and gummy and I can distinguish more varied flavors like apple, white grape, and then pear with a hint of citrus at the finish. It is not often that I can really peg these flavors individually in a drink. It is a much tastier drink than your average RB clone flavor. I get no bitterness and really enjoyed the lighter sweetness and it really is more thirst quenching than a lot of drinks. I will give them a grade of B for taste.
Kick/Ingredients: Battery is really an international drink and because of this the ingredients may vary by country do to laws and such. The one I have is from the USA. I drank my battery about 1am while working nights. Things were slow and I still had at least 5 hours till I was to drive home. I drank it pretty quickly and started ramping up in about 15 minutes. In 30 minutes I was assaulted with a full on buzz. I was animated and very talkative. I was in an excellent mood and even driving home at 5:30 am I was still charged. I skipped the morning news on the radio and went straight to some hard rock on cd(Monster Magnet- 4 way Diablo). I actually had to concentrate on slowing down so I did not get a speeding ticket. I easily got 5 hours of major kick from this drink. The energy in Battery comes from 106mg of caffeine, 1333mg of Taurine, maltodextrin, Guarana, sucrose, and a healthy dose of B vitamins. There are 170 calories and 36 grams of sugar. I will give Battery Energy drink a grade of B+ for kick. This is a pretty potent energy drink
Web Presence: They have a really nice site at batterydrink.com. The site has nice graphics and is loaded with information as well as fun things to check out. You have Product info, News, formula 1 racing info, Availability (over 30 countries!), and even games so you can use all they energy you get while at work! It has a lot to see and do. I will give them a grade of B for web presence. Nice fun site. Not the most exciting but very professional and informative.

Really I was not sure what to expect from Battery energy drink. I was very pleasantly surprised with the entire product and welcome them to make more inroads into the USA. This is a good tasting strong energy drink that I think many will enjoy. It has a perfect level of sweetness and comes in a unique can. Keep your eye out for this one.
