The flavors bloom in your mouth

Bloom “Wild berry” energy drink
The Bloom line of energy drinks is an interesting one to me. It’s healthy and has a full serving of fruit in it (1/2 cup). It is definitely aiming for the Energy drinker looking for a healthy drink with calcium, and no HFCS and 50% juice. It is a tea/juice drink. I also think they are aiming at the female market as well and even mention this fact in there press kit.

Packaging: Bloom Wild Berry comes in a slim 10.5 oz can. The can is silver with some translucent text on it. This text consists of some of the ingredients found in the drink. There is a picture of a purple berry on the front as well. This berry is the dot at the bottom of an exclamation point with a large purple rectangle as the upper part. Nice touch I think. Below the berry there is also so regular text touting the health benefits and healthy ingredients. They really got the bases covered when it comes to letting everyone know this is a healthy drink. Only thing missing is the mention of the Acai and the Pomegranate which are hot properties at the moment. Even with this it is a clean design. I give them a Solid B for packaging.

Slogans:  No real slogan to speak of on the can. However on the website I did like the slogan “We like to think of it as Karma you can drink” I’ll Give it a D for slogan though since there is nothing catchy on the can.

Taste ect: Ok it is healthy we get that already but how does it taste? It taste great! It has an awesome mixed berry flavor, sweet but not overly so. It is purple in color and has some sediment left in the cup at the end but that just shows you there is real fruit in there not just fruit flavors!  It was lightly carbonated. I could drink this on a regular basis. I give it an A for taste.

Kick/Ingredients: I was going to be on a long teleconference which if you did not know can be very sleep inducing.  I drank this at the start and it carried me through the 2.5 hours ok. Not a huge boost but then I was not expecting one. It only has 74mgs of caffeine which come from the white tea extract and guarana. The juices in this drink are many with several kinds of berries as well as Grape and pear. The Acai and the Pomegranate are in there along with White tea and Guarana  and a host of vitamins and even some Coenzyme Q10 . All that and only 100 calories per can. I’ll give it a C- on energy. It’s healthy but energy could be higher.

Web presence:  Well what with Del Monte being such a large company you would expect a nice website and they have one Here. It is a top notch flash site that has a ton of information and some nice graphics. Sometimes these flash sites can be confusing and this time it is. I had to poke around to find the information I wanted. Just keep clicking on stuff and you'll find what you need though. Everything is there though. Actually if you go to the section labeled "Latest" you can download a media kit pdf which has all the information you might want. If you search for Bloom energy drink you will find a bunch of reviews and news along with the fact you can order Bloom from Amazon.com. I give them a grade of B- on their site. Would be higher if it was easier to use.
