The Power of the Water Buffalo!

Carabao energy drink
Ok so today I needed an early morning pick me up. I did not want a large ED so I grabbed a smaller ED called Carabao. It is imported from Thailand. Carabao is a strange name and it turns out is is a large water buffalo often used in farming. This is not exactly making me think of energy.
Packaging: Carabao comes in an unusual can. The can is 8.4 oz but is short and squat instead of the usual slim 8.4 oz cans. The Design is very nice. It’s a metallic green can with a large Carabao skull on it. The skull has very long Horns kind of like a long horn and it has a red dove printed in the middle of the skull. This logo appears on the can twice as well there is a silver version of the skull larger and in the background. On the top of the can are also 2 miniature versions of the logo which is unique. The words Energy drink also appear on the can. While a water buffalo might not make you think energy this can makes me think this will be a good drink. I will give this can a grade B for design.
Slogans: No logo on the can really. They do have a logo on their website though that reads. “The fighting spirit of Carabao” I give the slogan a C-
Taste ect: I open the can and pour out the drink and it appears a dark orange color. It has a slight medicinal scent. Does it taste orange? No it does not. It has a taste like sweet tarts or some similar candy up front and some sourness and red bull flavor at the finish. It’s got legs and by that I mean it’s thick. Not thick like syrup but kind of like a concentrated drink. I don’t think I have had a drink that has this consistency before. It is sickly sweet with no carbonation at all. I had no problem drinking it but it left me thirsty. I give it a C- for flavor. It’s original but not really good.
Kick/Ingredients: Does it get me out of my early morning slump? Yes it does. Not a big surge but it does what I needed for this early in the day. It contains 50 mg of Caffeine, only 1g of Taurine, 50mg of inositol, 33mg Nicotinamide, 2.6g of Citric Acid, 8mg D-panthenol, 8mg B-6, 8mg B-12, and 34.7g of Sucrose. Not potent but passable. I give it a C- for kick overall. There is a place and time for a lower kick ED I believe.
Web presence: Carabao has a website . It is a nice website with nutritional information as well as information on what the ingredients are supposed to do for you. It also has a lot of info about the idea behind the drink and the slogan. It’s colored like the drink can and is nicely done. Not super fancy but professional. I give the site a B+ since it provides a lot of information and is easy to navigate.
