Crazyhorse Energy drink

I don’t remember when I first heard of this drink but I really liked the name so I tracked it down.  The name just works and makes you think this is going to be a good energy drink. Lets see if it lives up to my expectations

Packaging: Crazyhorse energy drink comes in an 8.4 oz slime can. It has a real(not shrink-wrap) label. The label is black with their website address in a yellow band around the top of the can. On the front in a graphic of a kicking/bucking horse with a red and yellow spiky pattern behind it that makes me think POW! The horse and the pattern are inside of a silver horse shoe with the Crazyhorse above all this and energy drink below in a yellow and red font. On the front it  it mentions “lightly carbonated” and “+ Taurine". On the back is a cool little blurb about the drink, nutrition information, and a phone number for contact. I give this can a grade of B+. I love the horse bucking the color scheme, and the horse shoe. It makes you think this is going to be a kicking energy drink.

Slogans:  Not really a slogan on the can but they have a slogan on their site and it is “Enjoy the Ride” Very nice I think and it fits well with an energy drink. I give them a solid B for slogan. I think they should add it to the can though.

Taste ect:  Nice can and slogan but how does it taste? Well when I open it it has the familiar energy drink scent and it comes out a golden amber color. It has a real good carbonation level that I like. It tastes like your typical energy drink RB type drink. Not exactly and it has a lighter feel and taste with no gumminess to follow. I can taste no bitter energy ingredient flavor at all. Over all it has a good sweet candy taste and really goes down smooth. I’ll give them a B for taste. I tried 3 cans and I wished every time that it was in a 16oz can!

Kick/Ingredients: Now Crazyhorse bills itself as a healthier alternative. They don’t put a lot of caffeine(37.5mg) or Taurine(7mg) in this can. They have a vitamin blend and some inositol but no guarana or other strange ingredients. 110 calories and 27 grams of carbs per can. Sucrose and glucose sweeten this drink. No HFC. I know what you are thinking. Sounds kind of weak in the kick department. I thought so as well. I tried it the first time late in the evening mixed as a bomb shot with some vodka and apple pucker. Mistake. 10 minutes later I was buzzing more than I wanted and was worried about being able to sleep. I double checked the can and the site to make sure this drink did not have more caffeine in it that I had thought and it did not. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I drank a can the next day and was once again buzzed. I just finished the third can a an hour ago and I am kicking good as I type this. I’m not sure what makes it kick but it does kick hard for me. I give them a B for kick. It’s like I drank a strong 16 oz energy drink?

Web presence:  Crazyhorse has a nice little site at crazyhorseenergydrink.com  It has all the necessary information like ingredients, about us, wholesale information, a great section on drinks you can make using crazyhorse, and a gallery of images. I will give them a B- for web presence. They also have a myspace page.

Recap:

Crazyhorse is a great energy drink flavor wise with a good kick. I think it is one that could take on Red Bull in a club setting and come out a winner. They have a great menu of mixed drinks to try and if you’re of age you should check those out. If you’re not of age then Crazyhorse is just an all around good tasting drink that you will enjoy right out of the cool looking can.  I’ve had several different energy drinks since I tried the Crazyhorse and I’m wishing they tasted as good.
