Let The Bridges Burn

Engage energy drink

Ok you have your energy drinks for everyday use and then you have a whole other animal. I call these extreme energy drinks. These are not for drinking while you do your homework or work at your desk. These drinks are for doing stuff. Intense stuff. Working out, extreme sports, violent sports, and anything else you want to really be pumped up for. Today I have in my hands Engage energy. This is one of those energy drinks. I like these and can’t wait to try this one.

Packaging:  Engage comes in a 10 oz white uniquely shaped plastic bottle with a screw on lid. The bottle is wrapped in a black shrink wrap. On the front it has “Engage” in a white and holographic type font. It also reads “Pure Adrenaline” in an aggressive type white font. Behind the name is a pattern which resembles claw marks to me and is in a holographic coloring.  Around the top of the bottle it reads “Explosive Energy”, “Concentration”, and “Mood Elevation”.  On the back are the Supplement facts and a warning label. On top of the lid it reads” Must be 18 to purchase and High Potency. I will give them a solid B for packaging. I like the logo and font.  The bottle shape is unique and I like the warning on the Lid.

Slogan:  On the label you have the “Pure Adrenaline” and on the site you have “Energy unleashed” Both these are great. They scream intense power which gets the message across. I will give them a grade of B+ for slogan

Taste: Just like energy shots you don’t always expect great taste from extreme energy drinks. They usually have no calories and a crap load of ingredients.  I opened this drink and it had a sweet smell and was not medicinal at all. I poured out half of the bottle and it came out crystal clear with no carbonation. I took a sip and was surprised. It has a berry flavor but is not overly sweet. It is a little tart. Not bad at all. I read that is supposed to be Goji Berry flavored. If that is the case then I guess Goji Berries are pretty tasty. I did not have any noticeable after taste to speak of. I will give them a grade of B- for flavor. That is a damn good score for an extreme energy drink.

Kick/ingredients.  You are supposed to drink only half a bottle to start with and that is what I did.  I was preparing for a long bike ride and I drank it about 15 minutes before leaving. I was pleasantly surprised when I did not get the super crazy blow your skull off jittery buzz. I had a long ride ahead and I did not want to burn out early. I had plenty of energy throughout the ride and I was in very good spirits. Towards the end of the ride when I should have been running down I had an extra burst. I feel that the Engage actually kicked in the most when I was the most stressed physically. When I needed the energy to push beyond my usual limits it was there.  Ok on to ingredients. Acetyl L Carnatine, N-acetyl L Phenylalanine , Caffeine 125mg per serving, Raspberry ketones, Tyramine hcl , and Geranium Extract which is supposed to have an effect similar to adrenaline. Pretty unique line up. Notice there was no Yohimbine? Unique line up and 0 calories or carbs. I will give this drink a grade of B+ for kick. It is smooth and unique.

Web presence: Engage is a new drink but they do have a website at nutrivation.net. At the moment there is very little there. They have a cool theme with product info, mission statement, and contact info. I’ll have to give them a C- until they add more content. There is some potential there.
Recap:

I enjoyed this drink. I liked the fact that it was not crazy insane and jittery. Still it was intense and provided a mood elevating powerful boost. The best part being that it kicked in when you needed it most! I highly recommend this drink for your workout. I even think it would get you through a difficult day at work or school (college). Give it a try and let me know what you think.
