It's evolution
Just evolution
EVO Sugar Free Pomegranate Acai

Here comes another supposed healthy energy drink. I have to admit I have had a bunch of healthier energy drinks and many were pretty good. Will EVO be one of those or will it just be a bad tasting weak drink. I have found only one review of this drink so I am unsure what to expect.
Packaging: EVO starts off with a slim 12 oz can. The can is a combination of orange, white, silver, and maroon. Around the top of the can it list key ingredients ans following that is the name “EVO” in a black and orange font with the letter O being a little swirly thing that reminds me of a storm on a weather map. Right in the middle it reads” Positive Energy”. That is nice but I’m still looking for a drink that gives me “Negative Energy” lol. Further down the label is the swirly thing again with ingredients listed again in it. The bottom is maroon with the flavor written in it. Back has nutrition facts and a blurb about the drink. While not ugly the can is just a little jumbled to me with too many colors. Grade C- for packaging.
Slogan: On the can I found “Join The Liquid Evolution” so that is not too bad I think. It is unique to the drink so I always like that. Grade B- for slogan
Taste: So I pop the top and get a nice organic smell of Acai and Pomegranate. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a red color with a slight purple tint to it. It has very heavy carbonation. I take a sip and get some Acai and pomegranate flavors but mostly theses flavors combine to give it cherry taste. The flavor is not overly sweet and it does have some bitterness at the finish. It is not bad but then it is not really great either. I like the low level of sweetness but the taste is just kind of dull. I give it a C- for taste.
Kick/Ingredients: I finished the can as quickly as I could in order to get maximum effect. I could not find out how much caffeine was in it so I figured it to be a fairly low amount. In 15 or so minutes I got a mild boos of energy but it was less than your average energy drink and only lasted like 3 hours. There was no crash though. Looking into the ingredients I find Caffeine, Taurine, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, Green tea extract, modest amounts of B vitamins, 100% of your dv for Vitamin E, and 830% of your DV for Vitamin C. There is also the unique ingredient Bromelain which is an anti inflammatory and digestive aid. One thing I found strange is that for a healthy drink that goes on about the benefits of Acai there seems to be none in this drink. Unless it is listed under “Fruit and Vegetable juice for color”. It is Gluten free though which is a unique claim and might interest some people. There are 0 calories or carbs and it is sweetened with Sucralose. I give it a grade of D+ for kick/ingredients. It has little energy or healthy ingredients. It has a good dose of E and C but that is about it.
Web Presence: The site at drinkevo.com is pretty nice. It is laid out well and offers up nutrition info, product info, company info, and events and athletes. I’m not even going to hold it against them that they sponsor a Utah Jazz player (I hate the Jazz). They also have a store which is nice. Grade B for web presence.
Recap:
Ok so if you are on a Gluten free diet this might be your drink. For the rest of us I think not. I see no evolution here at all. This has some good vitamins and no calories but not much else. There are healthier drinks out there that get the job done better all around. Still maybe you’re looking for a mild boost and some good vitamins. If that is so then their store is a bargain where you can get a 4 pack for 8 bucks with free shipping. That is a pretty good deal but just be aware of what you are getting.
