Believe the Hype!
Hype energy drink
Hype is a company that has been around a long time. 13+ years is a long time in the energy drink business. Not many drinks have been around that long. I finally got my hands on the full line up of Hype. I’m going to try the original Hype first. Now Hype even has a special shot glass so I feel it is my duty to make use of this glass in my review as well.
Packaging: Hype comes in the classic 8.4 oz slim can. The can is silver with silver diagonal pattern on it. The name Hype Energy is in a bold blue and white font vertical on the can. There is a red dot fade pattern as well as the phrase “essential energy” and nutrition information. I know it sound not that exciting but it is super stylish and really I think this is one of the sharpest cans I have seen. I give it a grade of A. I will say based on looks I would grab one of these in a heartbeat.
Slogans: Well on the can we have “Essential Energy” That is about it. Not exciting or something cool really. They should work on it. I’ll give them a grade of C for slogan
Taste ect: It comes out of the can a light red color and with an energy drink aroma. That is not a bad thing. As an edjunkie that is a bouquet. It has a medium carbonation which is just the right amount. The taste is a mixed berry flavor and it is a great flavor. I have to admit I was expecting RB clone flavor but this is way better. I drank some straight out of the can then proceeded to make a shot using the Hype shot glass. I poured the Hype into the bottom portion and I topped it off with the classic Jagermeister. The glass worked great keeping the Hype and the Jager separated. I slammed it down and it was damn good. They call it a hymeister on their site and it kicks the crap out of a Jager bomb. I give it a B+ for flavor. Taste great alone and makes a killer shot/mixer
Kick/Ingredients: Wow this is turning out way better than I expected. Does it have any kick? Hell yes. I did three bombs and then polished off the can and I was still good to go. It has 80mg of caffeine as well as Ginseng, Guarana, and Taurine. Throw in some good vitamins and 29 grams of sugars and you’re a cookin. It’s not super potent but it kicks the crap out of similar 8.4oz drinks. I give it a grade of B for Kick Ingredients
Web presence: Hype is a major player and they have a top notch site at hype.com. They have drink information about ingredients as well as drinks you can make, Videos, Music, events, and a store! Really it is a cool site. You can also find tons of hits on the search engines. I give them a grade of A for web presence.
Recap:
Hype is a major player and should be ahead of Red Bull easily in the top spot. This company shows why it is a major player in the market with high scores across the board. If you’re having a party Hype is needed to kick it to the next level. I can’t wait to try the other Hype drinks! I’m gonna add this to my top list as soon as I make one.
