Well, they call me the working man
I guess that's what I am

Ironclad energy  Goji Berry and Triple Citrus

This one caught me off guard. The market for this drink is untapped and not one I had ever thought of. It makes perfect sense though. An energy drink for the working man or woman out there. The people who do the physical demanding jobs. Industrial workers, road crews, carpenters, roughnecks, plumbers, welders ect. These people need more than just an energy drink. They need hydration as well. There are other hydration energy hybrids out there but this one is being marketed directly to these workers and it is from a company they know and trust Ironclad. I’m reviewing both flavors here.

Packaging: Ok so this can looks a little different than some but it is spot on for its target market. It has the really nice shield logo with the crossed sledge hammers. I love the  fade pattern with the black going to silver. The little tab on the top is black also with the crossed hammers on it for a nice touch also. This is a package that any worker would be fine being seen drinking from. It is mature and rugged. Grade B+ for packaging

Slogan: “Industrial energy for everyone who Works” Is on their site and it fits like a well machined part. It is drink specific and that is always a winner with me. I like the whole industrial  theme.  Grade B+

Taste:

Kick/Ingredients: So I drank down the entire can and it was gone before I realized it. In the usual 15 minutes or so I had a nice smooth energy buzz going. I was on the edge but not quite into the jittery area with some energy and focus that allowed me to get some work done. I was in a great mood as well and it just made the next 4 hours go by quickly and productively. There was a tiny bit of a crash but a lot less then most full sugar drinks. The unique thing is that this is a hydration drink that actually provides so hydration ingredients. First off for energy per can you have 154 mg caffeine, 2000mg Taurine, 100 mg Guarana, Ribose, L-Luciene, L-Valine, and 100% of your typical B vitamins. Then for hydration you get 420 mg sodium, 180 mg potassium, 6 mg magnesium, and 12 mg calcium. This drink as you can see provides some unique ingredients. Grade B+ for kick/ingredients

Web Presence: The site at ironcladenergy.com is a pretty good site. It has some product info as well as contact info, about us, and promo sections. The cool thing about the promo section is that you can save the taps from the tops of the drink cans and trade them in for cool Ironclad gear. You only need 6 to get started with a cool beanie hat. The site does not have a lot but it gets the job done and looks pretty good. C+

Recap:

I am glad to see someone finally came out with a more legit hydration energy hybrid. This drink delivers on both fronts with a unique and useful line up of ingredients. It also has a unique target market that could use some attention. I enjoyed the taste and the kick was very good as well as the hydration. If you’re an industrial worker, work in a hot climate, or even if you are out doing some work on your house or yard this is a drink you need to check out. Even if you are just hanging out though I think you will probably like the great taste and energy so you can go for it too. Nice job guys!
